Science is a collaborative effort, and the research in my lab wouldn't be possible without the contributions of amazing students and collaborators. Please learn about our team, formed by amazing students and alumni, below!

I am a freshman. My hometown is Marietta, Georgia. I intend to major in Biology. I was drawn to Dr. Bayona's lab because of my curiosity of Joro spiders, animals that I have seen a lot here in Georgia. In the lab, I am extracting and analyzing the DNA of Joro spiders we have collected, and I am looking forward to gaining a greater understanding of genetics and biology through this experience. In my free time, I love gaming, enjoying nature, playing the piano, and photographing bugs.

I'm from Queens, New York, and I'm majoring in Environmental Science. I'm especially interested in entomology because I am a huge bug lover, which is why I joined research on Joro spiders! We perform DNA extractions and gel electrophoresis, learn about DNA sequencing, like 3RAD, and, outside, we collect Joro spiders (which I've become quite proficient at). I like to read and draw comics, participate in theater, and visit local artist alleys, and I've made a hobby of catching invasive bugs!
